Every year, on the first Dragon day of the first lunar month, Giay people in Ta Van (Sa Pa district, Lao Cai) opens the Roong Pooc festival to hope for a wonderful harvest, prosperity and weather. Despite being a traditional ethnic festival of the Giay in Ta Van, in many years, Roong Pooc has become the festival of the Muong Hoa valley.
Dao people considers that this ceremony is an indispensable procedure for a grown man. Only people who pass this procedure are considered a mature.
Dao's Cap Sac has many levels, the first one will provide three lights and 36 soldiers; the second one will provide 7 lights and 72 soldiers; the last stage will be 12 lights and 120 soldiers. The period lasts from 1 to 5 days, including presentation, pigs and chickens slaughtering to worship ancestors. Before the ritual, the worshipers have to clean the house of the person who was awarded, then hit a drum to invite the ancestors to attend. The priest made offerings to report to the ancestors know the reason of the ceremony.
Gau Tao is an important and distinctive festival of H'Mong people. This festival is held every year during the Lunar New Year holidays with beautiful cherry blossom, plum flowers blooming. The festival opens for either blessing or fate.
Ham Rong tourist site is built on an area of nearly 150 hectares. The project was started in 1996 to exploit the wild-culture values of the ancient rocks. The highest mountain in Vietnam, also the highest in the Indochina, is known as the "Indochinese Roof" (3,143 m) in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, about 9 km Southwest of Sapa town. , which is in the border of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces in Northwestern Vietnam. Thac Bac (Silver Waterfall) is a famous place of Sapa tourism. These waterfalls are from a height of over 100m from the top of the mountain. Like the Love Waterfall, standing at the foot of the Silver Waterfall, watching the vastness of the sky and the majestic mountains far away, we suddenly felt very tiny in front of the greatness of nature.
Thac Bac is about 12 km from Sapa town. From the hundred-of-meter ravine, the water rumbled down, the white foam burst as the flowers so called Silver Waterfall. From far away heard the crashing torrents, the echo resounded in the forest deepens the feeling of the wild and mysterious. This waterfall is near the highway, which is very convenient for tourists.
